An AI certificate on your resume is a quick way to show you keep up. It tells a hiring manager you can use the same tools their team already uses.
Here is the honest part. Most of these are 100% free with a shareable certificate. A couple are free to audit or free to start with a trial or financial aid, and I mark exactly which is which so nothing surprises you. Every one comes from a name recruiters know, and each has a direct link so you can start today.
How To Read This
Watch for three labels on each cert. Free means no cost, and you get a certificate you can share. Free to audit means you can watch every lesson for free, but the paper itself costs extra. Free to start with a trial or financial aid means it opens free for a short time, or you can ask for aid to skip the fee. I mark each one so you know before you click.
Cert 1Google AI Essentials
Google's starter course on how AI works and how to use it at your job. It is built for regular people, not engineers. Google is a name every hiring manager knows, so this one carries weight on a resume.

Cert 2Elements of AI
A friendly intro to AI from a real university, and more than a million people have finished it. There is no math and no code. A course this well known looks great on a resume, and it is one of the few that is fully free from start to finish.

Cert 3AI for Everyone (Andrew Ng)
Andrew Ng is one of the most trusted names in AI, and this course is built for people who do not write code. It helps you talk about AI with confidence at work. His name on your resume means something to the people who hire.

Cert 4Career Essentials in Generative AI
This one is co-branded by Microsoft and LinkedIn, so two big names sit on one line of your resume. Even better, the badge shows right on your LinkedIn profile, where recruiters look. It covers the basics of generative AI in a few short lessons.

A short, practical Google course on how to write prompts that actually work. Good prompting is the skill people ask about most right now. It is another Google name for your resume.

Cert 7Kaggle Learn
Kaggle is owned by Google and is where a lot of data people hang out, so anyone technical respects it right away. Its short courses let you learn by doing. They are free and quick to finish.

Cert 8AWS Intro to Generative AI
Amazon Web Services runs a huge share of the AI you use every day, so their name is a strong one to list. This short course covers what generative AI can and cannot do. It is free and takes about an hour.

These free courses come straight from Anthropic, the maker of Claude. Listing one shows you follow AI as it is happening right now, not a year ago. It is about the most current name you can put on a resume.

If you only pick one to begin, make it Elements of AI or Anthropic Academy. Both are truly free, both give you a certificate, and both are easy to finish. Start there, then add a Google or Microsoft cert once you have the habit.
